Privacy Policy
The short version
- Your records stay yours. Takvim backs up your prayer log, qada, habits, plans and settings so you don’t lose them and can use them on your other phones. That is the only reason we keep them.
- Prayer records show religious practice. We treat them as sensitive: we use them only to run the app, never share or sell them, and delete them when you ask.
- No ads, no tracking, no selling. Takvim contains no advertising or analytics tools.
- Prayer times are calculated on your phone. We keep only the city you choose, never a history of where you go.
- Leave any time. Delete your account and everything in it from the app, or write to privacy@siymo.com.
1. Who we are
Takvim is an app for iPhone and Android that keeps your five daily prayers, qada, Sunnah habits and daily plans in one place. It is developed and published by Makhmudjon Inadullaev, an independent developer working under the name Siymo (“we”, “us”). We decide how your data is used in Takvim and are responsible for it (in legal terms, the “controller”).
Questions about privacy: privacy@siymo.com. Anything else: support@siymo.com.
2. What we collect
Your account
Every copy of Takvim has an account, so your data is backed up from the first day.
- Guest. If you continue as a guest, we create an anonymous account with a random user ID. It has no name, email address or phone number.
- Google. If you continue with Google, we receive your Google account ID, email address and name.
- Apple (iPhone). If you continue with Apple, we receive an Apple user ID and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. Apple lets you hide your real email address.
- Phone number. If you continue with your phone, you send one text message (SMS) to our service number, and we receive the number it came from. Nothing is sent to you, and we never read your contacts or messages.
- Your name, as you enter it in Profile → Account.
Each account has a user ID issued by our sign-in provider, Google Firebase.
What you record in Takvim
- your prayer log: for each prayer, whether you marked it on time, late, missed or excused, and whether you prayed in congregation;
- the qada (make-up) prayers you log;
- your habits, plans and other ibadah: their titles, notes, times, repeat rules and reminders, and the days you ticked them off;
- your settings: language, calculation method and adjustments, Hijri date adjustment, notification choices, and the place you chose for prayer times (see Your location).
This is copied between your phone and our database, so it is the same on every phone you sign in on. The design style you pick stays on the phone.
Feedback you send
When you send feedback (Profile → About & feedback → Send feedback), we receive your message together with your name, your user ID and how you sign in, the email address or phone number of your account, your phone’s platform, system version and model, the app version, language and design style, your city and your calculation method. This helps us understand the problem and reply to you.
Technical data
When the app contacts our server (to sign in with your phone, send feedback, or delete a phone account), we use your IP address to stop abuse, such as repeated sign-in attempts, and keep it for at most two hours for that purpose. Our providers also process technical data, such as IP addresses and the type of device, to deliver their services, and keep short operational logs.
What we don’t collect
We don’t collect your contacts, photos, advertising identifier or browsing activity, and we don’t keep a history of where you have been. Takvim contains no advertising, analytics or tracking tools. Prayer alerts and reminders are scheduled on your phone, so no notification token is sent to us. A CSV export (Profile → Export data) is a file on your phone; we never see it.
3. Your location
Takvim calculates prayer times on your phone from your location and the calculation method you choose. You can search for your city, or let the app find it with Use my location. The app asks for your location only when you tap that, and only while you are using it.
- Your phone’s system service (Apple Maps on iPhone, Google on Android) turns the position into a city name. We round the position to about 1 km before saving it.
- When you search for a city, your search text goes to that same system service to find matching places.
- We store only the chosen place, as part of your settings: city, country, coordinates and time zone. There is no background location tracking and no location history.
4. Religious practice and other sensitive information
Your prayer log, qada and ibadah records show your religious practice. In the European Union and many other countries this is a special category of personal data that deserves extra protection. A prayer marked “excused” may also hint at health information, such as menstruation. We handle all of it the same way:
- we process it only because you choose to record it in Takvim, and only to provide the app to you: to show it, back it up and keep it in sync between your phones;
- we never share it, sell it, or use it for advertising or profiling;
- you can delete it at any time (see Your choices and rights).
By recording these things in Takvim, you give us your explicit consent to process them for this purpose. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting the records or your account.
5. How we use your data
- To provide Takvim: sign you in, back up and sync your data between your phones, and show your history and statistics. Legal basis: our agreement with you (the Terms of Use) and, for religious information, your explicit consent.
- To answer your feedback and support requests and fix problems. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in helping you and improving the app.
- To keep Takvim secure and prevent abuse, for example by limiting repeated sign-in attempts. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
- To meet legal obligations.
We don’t sell your personal data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone other than the service providers below, who act on our behalf. We would disclose data to authorities only where the law requires it.
6. Services that help us run Takvim
| Service | What for | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore) | Sign-in, and the database that backs up and syncs your data | Your account details and everything you record in Takvim |
| Cloudflare | Runs our server (phone sign-in, feedback, deleting phone accounts) | Requests from the app, including your IP address, and the feedback you send |
| Our web hosting provider | Hosts this website | Your IP address and the pages you open, in standard web server logs |
| Siymo OTP | Our text-message sign-in service | Your phone number and the sign-in message you send |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple; on iPhone, finding your city | Your Apple sign-in details; your position or search text when you look up a city |
| Sign-in with Google; on Android, finding your city | Your Google sign-in details; your position or search text when you look up a city | |
| Our support tools | Receiving and answering your feedback | Your feedback and the details listed under Feedback you send |
| Your mobile carrier | Carries the text message you send to sign in | That message, handled like any SMS; your carrier’s rates apply |
Where these providers process data for us, they do so under data processing terms that require them to protect it. Each also has its own privacy policy for its own services.
7. Where your data is stored
Your backed-up data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the European Union (the eur3 multi-region: Belgium and the Netherlands). Sign-in (Firebase Authentication) and our support tools may process data in other countries, including the United States, and Cloudflare handles each request in a data centre near you. When data leaves the European Economic Area, our providers protect it with safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
8. How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Your account and everything you record | Until you delete them or your account. Removing the app alone does not delete your backup. |
| A record you delete in the app | Its content is deleted straight away. A small marker without the content stays until your account is deleted, so your other phones remove the record too. |
| Your data after you delete your account | Deleted from our database straight away. Any backup copies expire within 30 days. |
| Feedback | As long as we need it to deal with your message and improve Takvim. Ask us and we will delete it. |
| IP addresses used against abuse | At most 2 hours |
| Phone sign-in sessions | About 10 minutes after the sign-in ends |
| Server operational logs | A few days |
9. Your choices and rights
- See and export your data. Profile → Export data (CSV) saves your prayer log, qada, habits and plans as a file.
- Correct it. Change any record, your name or your settings in the app.
- Sign out. Your data stays backed up and comes back when you sign in again.
- Delete everything. Signed in: Profile → Account → Delete account & data. Guest: Profile → Erase guest data. This deletes the account, its backup and the data on that phone. You can also ask us by email: see Delete your account.
- Withdraw consent by deleting the records or your account.
- Ask us. You can ask what data we hold about you, for a copy of it, to correct or delete it, or to restrict or object to how we use it. Write to privacy@siymo.com. We reply within one month and may ask you to confirm that the account is yours.
- Complain. If you live in the EU, the UK or another country with a data protection authority, you can complain to it.
Depending on where you live, the law may give you further rights. We will respect them.
10. Children
Takvim is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) between the app, our server and our providers, and Google encrypts the database at rest.
- Database rules let each account read and write only its own data.
- On your phone, Takvim keeps its data in the app’s private storage, protected by the system.
- We collect as little as we can.
No system is perfectly secure. If you find a problem, please tell us at privacy@siymo.com.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when Takvim changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters, such as a new kind of data or a new use, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
